If you have 2 or 3 more days free in Shanghai, why not go to surrounded cities, like Suzhou and Hangzhou.
Shanghai – Hangzhou: 1 hour by bullet train, it is possible to visit Hangzhou and come back to Shanghai within one day. Or you could stay one night at Hangzhou.
Shanghai – Suzhou: 0.5 hours by bullet train, it is possible to visit Suzhou and come back to Shanghai within one day,
